Social Media and the Boy who Cried Wolf

Listed Under: Knowledge Base

Sometimes scrolling through social media feeds or my daily inbox reminds me of the story about the boy who cried wolf.

He did it so often that when the real wolf did arrive nobody took any notice.

In today’s digital world its like ... scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, oh, something kind of important, scroll, scroll, etc.

Repeated endlessly ... or until you have the self-discipline to tear yourself away and get back to work.

The point being that the good and meaningful messages are often lost amongst the constant chorus of resounding noise, and don’t get through.

Which doesn’t educate or inform the recipient and therefore doesn’t help to build the client relationship.

Effective communication is about balance; using the correct channels for the correct content at the
correct time.
